2016 Mercedes-Benz A-Class facelift officially revealed
Mercedes-Benz has officially revealed the 2016 A-Class facelift. The top-of-the-range A 45 AMG model now packs more power than the outgoing model.
Performance for the A 250 will be the same from the 211 hp turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder powerplant. However Mercedes-Benz have a added a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission gets a launch control function.
The new A 45 AMG now packs 376 hp and 475 Nm of torque. This helps it reach from 0-100 kph in 4.2 seconds, which is about 0.4 seconds faster than the outgoing model. Fuel efficiency hasn’t been compromised either, which stands at 6.9 litres/100 km.
Mercedes-Benz has also updated the 7-speed gearbox on the A 45 AMG, by making the 3rd and 7th gear ratios shorter for better acceleration at a wider speed range. Gear-shift times have also been improved.
Exterior changes are hardly noticeable which includes an updated bumper, grille and headlight design. Interior too, gets minor changes, such as an updated infotainment system, new instrument cluster, galvanised switches, fresh colours and an optional new free-standing 8-inch display screen.
The 2016 Mercedes-Benz A-Class could arrive in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries by early next year.
