2016 Maserati Levante rendering based on design patents
The Maserati Levante is set to make its full debut at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show. Based on the recent design patents Maserati have filed, the guys from Top Speed have come up with these renderings to depict what the final production model might look like.
Set to be built in Turin, Italy, the Levante will be the luxury car manufacturer’s first taste of action in the SUV market. Based on the Ghibli, it has been stated that it will available with a variety of engines, which should include both their turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 and turbocharged 3.8-litre V8 motors. It should get the 8-speed automatic transmission as well.
Test mules of the Levante has been spotted undergoing testing all over Europe, including at the famous Nürburgring circuit.
Current luxury SUV brands it will going up against will include the Range Rover Sport and the Porsche Cayenne.
The Maserati Levante should make its debut in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other GCC markets once it is officially released early next year, either as a 2016 or 2017 model year.
