2015 Mercedes-Benz G 500 “4×4-squared” first photo released

If you didn’t quite figure out from the photos, this is not a regular G-Wagen. This is the 2015 Mercedes-Benz G 500 4×4², with a squared at the end of the name just to annoy us. And it’s lifted from the factory.

The 2015 Mercedes-Benz G 500 4×4² is the spiritual successor to the notoriously problematic Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6×6, whose production has already ended. The badge hints at a 382 hp 5.5-litre V8, so it’s not as all-out as the G 63 AMG truck. Maybe it will cost less than the Dhs 2 million 6×6 too.

More details will be released next week, with a debut planned for the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
