Audi Prologue concept previews future design direction

Audi Prologue Concept
Audi has been carrying on with a set-in-stone corporate styling theme for the past decade now, with just minor facelifts to keep them fresh. Now the German carmaker is toying with a new design direction, as previewed in the Audi Prologue concept.

Revealed at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Prologue is almost the size of an Audi A8, and features a 605 hp version of their 4.0-litre “TFSI” turbo V8, all-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-steering.

Inside, a new type of display and operating concept involves three touch displays across the width of the dashboard. The new type of front-passenger display enables digital interaction between the driver and front passenger, where a wiping movement by the passenger can send pre-configured routes to the driver’s display and input them into the Audi virtual cockpit. On the console of the centre tunnel, there is a fourth flexible touch display for handwriting input and other vehicle settings.

It looks like Audi is finally serious about shedding its conservative look and going for something a bit more characterful, but without losing that clean style it’s known for.
