2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport revealed

Land Rover Discovery Sport
Land Rover revealed the 2015 Discovery Sport which will replace the LR2.

The seven-seater Discovery Sport gets the same turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine, but now with the a new 9-speed automatic. The motor produces 240 hp and 339 Nm of torque, which comes on as early as 1,750 rpm. Land Rover continues its philosophy of making all their models off-road capable and the Discovery Sport gets the Terrain Response System which manages the all-wheel-drive systems and electronically-controlled differential.

The interior gets features such as a multi-function steering wheel, glossy-black accents and metallic trim. The centre console gets analog gauges and an infotainment system with an 8-inch screen. The second row seats can recline, slide backwards and forwards, and passenger legroom is supposed to be one of the best in its class. Don’t expect the same treatment from the third-row seats though. The last row seat can be folded down flat, to increase boot space.

The 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport should make its way to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries by the end of the year.

Keep track of the latest prices and updates in the Land Rover Discovery Sport buyer guide.

  1. Not too sure about this one. Might be one of those that look better in real than in pictures. I’m curious how they managed to fit a third row in there. Obviously only meant for kids but still especially since this is a X3 sized SUV.

  2. Turbocharged engines may not be a good idea in our desert environment.

Marouf, do you have any experience on the reliability of turbo engines in UAE?

  3. How much do youthink it will cost?

  4. We’ve been using a LR2 without any major issues (minor ones were covered under warranty), hence quite happy with the same. I have to say, with GOD’s Grace, we’ve been out of a sticky situation once in the LR2, abt two years back (Nov ’12), the heavy rains had really caused a huge headache, as we had to catch a flight (for my Sis’ wedding…), but the LR2 literally waded through deep waters (where the sedans were floating) and then we were followed by other SUV (LCs, RR, etc).

  5. this looks like a winner.. let see how it is priced.

  6. Looks much more practical than Evoque.

  7. Looks Great…and will be greatest if the price remains less than 200K…

  8. I believe this one will be a good seller. The design and utility are up to the mark. However, if the maintenance cost is controlled, then there is no reason it won’t sell in Saudi & UAE

  9. when is it expected in uae market.. wonderful design
