2015 Aston Martin Vanquish and Rapide S gains new 8-speed automatic
The 2015 models of the Aston Martin Vanquish and Rapide S will get a new 8-speed automatic transmission, as well as a new engine management system which will help boost performance figures.
With the new 8-speed automatic transmission and altered gear ratios, both the Vanquish and Rapide S run from 0-100 kph half a second faster. The Vanquish hits 100 kph from a standstill in 3.8 seconds, while the Rapide S reaches 100 kph from 0 in 4.4 seconds. They both can hit a top speed of 322 kph.
Fuel economy has been improved by 10% on both models. Horsepower too gets a slight bump with some exhaust gas pressure tinkering. The Vanquish gets a 3 hp bump to make it a total of 568 hp and the Rapide S gets an additional 2 hp to make it 552 hp. Both get a 10 Nm increase in torque to make it 630 Nm.
Cosmetic changes include new ten-spoke alloy wheels, new paint options, and interior cabin leather trim and headlining colors.
The 2015 Aston Martin Vanquish and Rapide S should make its debut in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries by winter this year.
