So we got a 2014 Cadillac ATS 3.6
Cadillac has had many “rebirths” over the past two decades. The STS back in the day heralded a new kind of Cadillac. Now it’s gone. Then there was the first CTS. A great car, and incidentally, the first official test car we ever got, but that final bit of refinement was missing. Now we have the ATS. And this is as close to nailing it as they’ve ever come, if not doing so already.
The ATS is a little car relative to anything Cadillac has put out before. It’s sharply styled and very unique.
Inside, there’s generous use of stitched-leatherette and aluminium on the dash, doors and even the centre-console sides.
There’s good space up front, but the rear is expectedly tight for taller passengers, given the car’s compact dimensions. The boot is surprisingly spacious though.
The real treat is still the way it drives. The ATS is pretty much is the definition of a sports-sedan, maybe even more so than the increasingly-softened offerings from BMW and Lexus. More in the full review.
