Toyota FT-1 Concept hints at 2016 Supra
Toyota pulled off one of the surprises of the 2014 Detroit Auto Show by throwing the covers off their latest creation, the FT-1 Concept. The “Future Toyota”, which is what FT stands for, could very well be the next Supra Concept.
No details or specifications have been given yet about the engine. Only technical details mentioned is the obvious front-engine rear-wheel drive setup it will have.
Toyota says this audacious design is also a celebration of the Calty Design Research’s 40th anniversary, and to commemorate the sports car heritage they shared across those years with cars such such as the 2000GT, Celica, Supra, MR2, and more recently the 86. And mind you, our speculative 2016 release date is as unlikely the FT-1 reaching production looking exactly like this.

Finally a beauty from toyota. Hope the same design makes it to the production version of the Supra

it would probably look only 20% like this concept i mean remember the gt 86 concept!! i don’t understand why would they bother making such nice concept than producing the worst version of it.

I hope Toyota will keep most of the design cues in the production version and they should also match the looks with a performance comparable to GTR.

Great to see Toyota getting back into with performance sports cars. They have hugely been missed ever since they withdrew from Formula 1.
