Fiat to take full control of Chrysler
Chrysler Group has reached an agreement to sell the remaining shares of the company to Fiat, handing over full control to the Italian car manufacturing giant.
The remaining 41.4616 % of Chrysler, which is under the United Auto Workers’ VEBA Trust fund, will be sold to Fiat North America, for a total amounting to $4.35 billion (AED 15.98 billion).
“The unified ownership structure will now allow us to fully execute our vision of creating a global automaker that is truly unique in terms of mix of experience, perspective and know-how, a solid and open organization that will ensure all employees a challenging and rewarding environment,” Fiat and Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne said in a statement.
The deal is expected to be completed by January 20th.

If TATA can own and improve JLR, Geely can own Volvo Cars, what is the harm in FIAT owning Chrysler?
In the end does it matter who owns more than what the product is?
