Maserati Levante 4×4 coming in 2015
The Maserati Levante 4×4 crossover started life as the Kubang concept in 2011. Expected to be Maserati’s cash-cow in the near future, we had a chat with a Maserati Middle East rep about their next new model that is coming in 2015.
We’re told that the design has pretty much been finalised internally. We’ve also got confirmation that it will be built in Italy itself, and not in the United States along partners Chrysler. The interesting bit is that the platform will supposedly not be shared with the Jeep Grand Cherokee, as has been widely speculated. We do suspect that it might be a heavily-revised version though, but it remains to be seen.
Engines are expected to be the 404 hp 3.0-litre turbo V6 and possibly the 523 hp 3.8-litre turbo V8 that powers the Quattroporte, aside from a diesel V6 for Europe.
Seemingly named after its target market, the Levante should do for Maserati what the Cayenne did for Porsche.
