Dongfeng brings Chinese Humvee, H30 Cross and other models to the UAE

2014 Dongfeng Mengshi
Dongfeng Motor Corporation, one of China’s largest auto groups, has announced that it will be participating for the first time at the Dubai Motor Show. The Middle East debut of seven models is part of its global expansion strategy.

2014 Dongfeng H30 Cross

Dongfeng will be showcasing its line-up that includes everything from sedans and crossovers to buses and off-road trucks. The current range consists of the H30 Cross, S30, Rich Pickup, SUCCE CDV, Joyear XL, Joyear SUV and Mengshi. Picking through the range, the H30 Cross seems to be a slightly-lifted hatchback, the Joyear SUV seems to be a compact crossover, and the Mengshi is, well, a Humvee clone. Interestingly, while the civilian Mengshi started off as a military vehicle copied from the Americans a decade ago, it actually used officially-sourced original Hummer parts earlier, and still uses a licenced Cummins diesel engine, with no objections from AM General, the maker of the original Hummer H1.

The company has signed a cooperation agreement with AW Rostamani Group for the sale of passenger and light commercial vehicles in the UAE.
