McChip adds more oomph to Audi RS5
McChip-DKR, a German tuning company is showing off their newly tuned Audi RS5. The otherwise adequately powered vehicle now receives a much more powerful setup which enables the car to produce a whooping 600 hp.
All the work is done on top of the 4.2-litre FSI V8. There is also no change to the gearbox, which remains the 7-speed S-tronic and the 4-wheel drive layout. But, what adds the extra grunt to the RS5 is the MC5XX package.
There are a total of three-levels to the package. The first shows a power increase of 100 hp and 120 Nm more of torque, amounting to a total of 550 hp and 550 Nm of torque. The first stage comprises of a compressor kit including an intercooler and a software upgrade.
Stage 2 of the package delivers an additional 130 hp and 135 Nm of torque, raising the power and torque figures to 580 hp and 565 Nm in total. This stage adds to the above a sports exhaust kit and more software enhancements.
Stage 3 brings about a change to the compressor ratio, leading to an enhancement in the manifold pressure. The results show an increase of nearly 150 hp and 160 Nm of torque. Thus, in total you’d be receiving an upgrade of 600 hp and 590 Nm of torque. The RS5 will be electronically limited to a top speed of 320 kph irrespective of which pack you choose.
The first stage in the package costs 19,999 Euros which roughly translates to Dhs 100,000. The second stage is for 23,999 Euros which is about Dhs 119,000, and the final stage is 26,999 Euros or Dhs 134,000. Pricey!
