VŪHL 05 to enter production following successful launch
The VŪHL 05, the Mexican lightweight track car is expecting to enter production soon, thanks to the overwhelming response after its successful launch at the Goodwill Festival of Speed in July.
VŪHL apparently stands for “Vehicles of Ultra-lightweight and High-performance”. And the 680 kg machine truly lives up to its name thanks to a Ford derived 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder Ecoboost engine producing 285 hp and 420 Nm of torque through a 6-speed manual that eventually powers the rear wheels. And mind you, it does have a manufacturer claimed 0-100 kph time of 3.7 seconds.
VŪHL will initially start with twenty ‘Edition One’ models, which is due to begin its production in November. Delivery is expected sometime mid-next year. The VŪHL 05 seems to be a well placed competitor in its category as it takes a spot between the lighter Ariel Atom and the BAC Mono, and the heavier KTM X-Bow.
