So we got a 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed

2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed
The Bentley Continental GT is among our most favourite cars we’ve ever driven. It looks great, drives great, and offers just the right amount of balance between performance, practicality and flamboyance. Of course, none of that will ever justify its apartment-sized price-tag, but there’s a lot to like about it. And in GT Speed trim, there’s a lot more to like about it.

Frankly, we have no idea how the Speed looks different than the regular Continental GT variants. The bumpers and wheels might be slightly different. Probably.

Inside, it’s the same as any Continental GT, as far as we can tell, aside from some “Speed” engravings on the door sills. It’s all expensive wood and leather in there, but the detailing is so intricate that some of the bits are delicate enough to be broken by wayward journalists who’ve previously abused this car for several months before it came to us. Volkswagen owners should recognise that touchscreen.

While rear legroom is on the scarce side, the boot is absolutely massive under that powered lid.

And damn is it fast. The new squinty-eyed model gains only a handful of horses over the GT Speed we tested back in 2008, but that’s hardly a cause for complaint. It remains one of the quickest cars we’ve ever tested, so if you’re interested in an uber-luxurious million-dirham Corvette-killer (yes, we tried it), this is the car for you.
