Dodge Dart, Jeep Cherokee, Chrysler 200 to get 9-speed automatic
Chrysler is planning to offer 9-speed automatic transmissions in three of their models, according to CEO Sergio Marchionne.
The first model to get the new transmission will be the next-generation 2014 Jeep Cherokee/Liberty, followed by the Dodge Dart and the next-generation Chrysler 200. Marchionne, who also heads Fiat, said he wants to increase sales in the U.S. before the Italian car-maker completely takes over Chrysler.
The Dart has been going through hot-weather testing in the UAE for a while now. Chrysler is planning to launch the compact sedan in the GCC later this year.
