Aston Martin celebrates 100 years with Burj Al Arab Vanquish landing

Aston Martin Vanquish on Burj Al Arab 2
British sports-car maker Aston Martin started off their centenary celebrations in Dubai itself, with an event at the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai.

The event featured the airlift of the new Aston Martin Vanquish onto the helipad of the iconic Burj Al Arab hotel in front of regional dignitaries up there, with the media watching from below.

It’s the first time a car has been placed onto the helipad, which sits 300 metres above the ground at the top of the sail-shaped building. And if you’re wondering how they got it down, we saw the helicopter show up again an hour later, and after a few attempts in windy conditions, it successfully hauled the car away again, likely back to the SkyDive Dubai base from where it took off, at the Dubai Marina.

Aston Martin, now partly owned by Italian and Kuwaiti investors, has so far built more than 60,000 cars since its inception in 1913.

  1. Beautiful way of making an event well done Aston Martin and thanks mash to review it over here 😀

  2. Can’t think of any thing more money and time wasting than this…

  3. Nicer they did it just because they can do it. Waste money or not I like it.

  4. if it was done at night with some action (fireworks, etc.) it would’ve been more exciting. when watching i kept asking “and then…?”
