Ford Atlas Concept gives glimpse of 2015 F-150

Ford Atlas Concept
The Ford Atlas Concept, revealed at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, gives us a glimpse of what the next-generation 2015 Ford F-150 pickup may look like.

Unlike the new Chevrolet Silverado, which has remained conservative in design, Ford has done well to come up with something which combines both aggression and modern looks. The concept is dressed up with LED headlights and taillights. It has Ford’s next-generation ‘Ecoboost’ engine which should improve fuel economy greatly. Engine start-stop should also help numbers.

Other features include active wheel shutters which close at higher speeds to improve aerodynamics. The shutters are powered by self-charging batteries which use the wheels’ motion. There is a drop-down air dam in front which lowers to improve underbody airflow. It stays up at lower speeds to improve ground clearance. 360-Degree Point-of-View Camera has been added to help parking in tight situations.
