Toyota Motorsports reveals Lexus LS-based TMG Sports 650
Toyota recently set up a tuner arm in Europe. The purpose of Toyota Motorsports GmbH, or TMG as they’ve been dubbed, is a bit vague at the moment. But they’ve launched they’re first project, and it’s based on the Lexus LS 460.
Losing all its Lexus badges, it’s named the TMG Sports 650, that latter number referring to an Euro-flavoured “650 PS”, or the equivalent of 641 hp. No other details are given, although the mods appear to be rather extensive. The car was spotted months ago being tested at the Nurburgring racetrack in Germany, which is why it seems to still be based on the older pre-facelift Lexus LS.
A car this aggressive will likely never go on sale in large numbers, although we assume Toyota is hinting at TMG becoming their version of “AMG” or “M”, although we assumed Lexus’ own “F” moniker covered that.
