Ford F-150 Special Service Vehicle package for police and fire

Ford has officially released a new ‘Special Service Vehicle Package’ for the F-150 pickup. The package will be targeted for fleet’s police or forest-ranger duty vehicles.

The pack adds in a larger 220-amp alternator to support electrical needs, and a unique interior configuration at no extra cost. Inside, the trucks offer cloth seating and additional space between the front seats for a range of extra gizmos, including communications equipment and firearm storage.

Agencies can also specify beefier components like heavy-duty tyres and skid plates to suit their needs. The ‘SSV Package’ trucks can be had with either a 3.5-litre Ecoboost V6 engine with 365 hp and 570 Nm of torque or the 5.0-litre V8 with 360 hp and 515 Nm of torque.

Both engines are bolted to a 6-speed automatic transmission, and buyers can equip the pickup with either four-wheel-drive or two-wheel-drive, in SuperCab and SuperCrew styles.

  1. 3.5-litre Ecoboost V6 engine with 365 hp and 570 Nm of torque or the 5.0-litre V8 with 360 hp and 515 Nm of torque.

Seems v8 is an outdated one, v6 seems to be very promising on towing with those torque figures.

  2. Sounds powerful indeed! I was wondering about the curiosity of the non-police public to buy cars of the similar kind :)) Btw, Alvin, can you tell me who are the direct competitors models of Ford F-150?
