Bridgestone introduces Potenza S001 run-flat tyres in UAE & GCC

Bridgestone has announced the launch of its new run-flat tyre . Starting this summer, the Potenza S001 RFT will be the flagship for the new generation of Bridgestone “Run-Flat Technology” tyres across the GCC.

Run-flat tyres allow drivers who have experienced puncture or air loss to drive at least 80 km at 80 kph, to find a location to replace the tyre. This eradicates the need to change tyres on busy highways or at night, and at the same time eliminates the need for any spare tyres.

The Potenza S001 RFT will be available to customers in 16 different sizes, ranging from 16 to 19 inches in rim diameters.

The new Potenza S001 RFT claims to use new side-wall reinforced rubber and “cooling fin” technology, both of which controls heat and apparently creates a comfortable ride which is comparable to the regular Potenza S001 that we have on our Honda S2000 long-termer. It is designed for sporty performance in dry and wet conditions, like its non-RFT model.

The RFT tyre is being offered for vehicles that come factory-fitted with run-flat tyres, with only BMW and Mini owners coming to mind as their largest potential market. The new Potenza S001 RFT is available at the local dealerships across UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and other GCC countries.
