Gazoo Racing does twincharged version of Toyota 86
Gazoo Racing Masters of Nürburgring, a tuning design and race engineering firm associated with Toyota have produced a race-ready version of the Toyota GT 86 sports coupe.
It will be more than a showpiece, as it went against several other racers at the 40th 24 Hours of Nürburgring endurance race held in Germany from May 17 to 20, and won in its category.
The GRMN-tuned Toyota 86 features a 316 hp 2.0-litre twincharged (a combination of a turbocharger and a supercharger) engine that cranks out a very healthy 421 Nm of torque. Managing that torque will be via a 6-speed manual transmission.
Other race-honed modifications include GRMN suspension tuning with 18-inch racing wheels, GRMN brakes, widebody kit with redesigned front and rear fascias, side skirts and fenders, roll cage, stripped interior with racing bucket seats and 4-point harnesses, large rear spoiler and GRMN dual exhaust system.
Frankly, this sounds like the car that Toyota needs to offer, to be taken seriously as the kind of sports car that enthusiasts can upgrade to after they’re done with the current 200 hp buzzer.

Hi Mashfique,
Any news about the price of the new GT86/FT86? I called up Toyota last week and they mentioned the launch to be on the 1st of June. Didn’t share the price nor specification sheets for UAE bound model(s).
Would be nice to know if any of your sources at Toyota have the insight. I’d want to purchase one if its within the 110-120K range.
Great website, keep up the good work.
