So we got a 2012 Lexus IS 300 C long-termer
You might remember this car. It is the white 2012 Lexus IS 300 C convertible we picked up for testing last year on Eid Al-Adha. Back then it only had 20 km on the clock. Now it has 4640 km, properly run in, and it is our new long-termer for the next two months.
When thinking of what cars we like from the Lexus range, this isn’t exactly our first pick of the bunch. And as far as long-termers go, we already have a convertible on our fleet. And we don’t even like convertibles.
But hey, it is still based on the sporting IS 300 sedan. It is still a leather-clad gadget-filled luxury car. And it actually has a folding hardtop, unlike our Honda S2000 which has a vinyl handkerchief for a roof. We don’t mind it at all.
Thanks to the IS 300 C, we’re delaying our purchase of an inevitable replacement for our Jeep Grand Cherokee even longer, because this convertible is actually quite practical. Last Eid Al-Adha, it had more than enough boot space to carry 30 kilos of fresh unprocessed beef.
