Cadillac SRX updated for 2013

Cadillac has unveiled the updated 2013 SRX crossover at the 2012 New York Auto Show with just a few upgrades, to bring it up to par with the rest of the line-up.

While the awkward exterior remains largely the same, most of the rework seems to be concentrated in the interior, as it gets some technology enhancements, including the ‘Cadillac User Experience’ (CUE), the brand’s new infotainment system.

The other big upgrade is the addition of two new safety packages; ‘Driver Awareness’ and ‘Driver Assist’. The former is focused on crash prevention by providing driver alerts, while the latter will also include vehicle intervention.

Notable changes also include a redesigned steering wheel, shifter and the instrument cluster. In addition, some new USB and SD card ports, minor rear-seat entertainment upgrades, standard HD radio, and new interior colour combinations round up the changes.

The Mexican-built 2013 Cadillac SRX is expected to be on sale to consumers in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the rest of the GCC sometime later this year.
