UAE petrol stations to accept credit cards again soon
According to the Ministry of Economy in the UAE, once again motorists will be able to use their credit cards to pay for petrol. What’s more, an additional Dhs 2 will also be charged as commission every time the card is swiped for the transaction.
While this mode of payment was also available earlier, around four years ago, petrol stations stopped accepting credit card payments, as local oil companies based in Dubai were unable to cover their high costs, due to soaring oil prices, according to Gulf News.
The Supreme Committee for Consumer Protection will be soon be arranging a meeting with Visa and MasterCard to discuss this proposal.
