Nissan Patrol Pickup returns to UAE for 2012

The Dubai dealer for Nissan has announced the introduction of the 2012 Nissan Patrol Pickup in the UAE at the 2012 Commercial Vehicles Middle East show. The company also displayed the Nissan Urvan panel van and the Nissan Navara pick-up.

The 2012 Nissan Patrol Pick-up is being introduced in the GCC with the 4.8-litre engine, producing 245 hp and 400 Nm of torque. It apparently boasts best-in-class comfort due to its coil-spring suspension system.

The 2012 Nissan Navara is available in 4WD & 2WD models. The 2.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine churns out 154 hp and 241 Nm of torque, while the 2.5-litre turbodiesel produces 172 hp and 412 Nm. It is equipped with either a 5-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission. Some key features include power door locks, front fog lamps, power windows, keyless entry, parking sensors, alloy wheels, guard frame protector, dual airbags, and ABS braking.

The Nissan Urvan is the company’s most successful light-commercial vehicle in the region. It comes in a choice of two engines, namely the 103 hp 3.0-litre diesel or the 144 hp 2.5-litre petrol. Both connect to 5-speed manual transmissions. The Urvan is not only available as a microbus, in 12 and 15-passenger versions, but also as a 3-passenger van with a large cargo area at the back.

While the Navara is still playing catch-up, and the Urvan is doing well, we expect the Patrol Pickup to become the choice of ghetto tuners throughout the region, although some others may actually buy it as a work-truck too.

  1. Ghetto Tuners! Why do they have to be Ghetto? Can’t they just be tuners and innovators?!

  2. They should bring the Navara Petrol in 4WD too.

  3. I have to say it is one of the best SUV/truck ever built.. Very solid truck… Driving one is extremely comfortable and pleasant..

Though that 4.8 engine is a carry over from the previous generations, it is quite thirsty..

    • I haven’t driven the Patrol Pickup but I have driven the LC Pickup 76 series for a few minutes. The driving feel was awesome.

    • I never drove the truck either but I did spent almost a month driving friend’s 1996 manual Patrol Wagon..

Awesome camping and safari car.. Super comfy long distance ride..

Even inside the city its very pleasant..

Though I never tested other 4x4s similiar to it so I cannot judge if its one of the best out there..

    • I wish to try out the LC 80 series to know which one is better. But guessing LC could be better. It is easier to find a Y60 lover in UAE.
