Nissan NISMO GT-R GT3 racer debuts

One of the most technologically-advanced legendary sports cars ever, the Nissan GT-R, has been further treated by Nissan’s racing arm NISMO to create an even more powerful monster -– all hail the Nissan NISMO GT-R GT3.

The GT-R GT3, co-developed with JR Motorsports and NISMO, shares its underpinnings, drivetrains and technologies with the original car, tuned to be beastlier for meeting GT3 specifications. Apparently, the GT-R GT3 is the closest match to the road car while other GT-R variants in the motorsport scene bear nothing more than a visual resemblance to the original. This GT3 racer made its debut at the Magny-Cours circuit in France where, while taking part in the Blancpain Endurance Series and competing with 35 cars, finished an impressive eighth place. The car ran absolutely trouble-free all throughout with only the obligatory refuelling, tyre-change and driver-swap being carried out.

Much to the dismay of rich kids, this car will obviously not go on sale in the local dealer showroom. But the GT-R GT3 can sure be a reason for an image-boost to the already popular street-legal GT-R.

What do you think?
