McLaren MP4-12C coming to UAE in 2011

McLaren Automotive unveiled the MP4-12C in Bahrain and the UAE this month. After the McLaren F1 and the Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR, this is only the first product to come out the company that has associations with Formula 1.

The unimaginatively-named MP4-12C is a two-seater mid-engine sports car with a one-piece carbon-fibre chassis structure called the MonoCell. It is the first time a car has such a structure. The 12C is equipped with an in-house 600 hp McLaren 3.8-litre V8 twin-turbo engine, mated to a unique 7-speed dual-clutch automanual gearbox.

The McLaren MP4-12C will go on sale in the GCC by summer 2011. The Middle East head office is in Bahrain, while Al Habtoor Motors will represent McLaren Automotive in the UAE via showrooms in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Early pricing estimates put it at Dhs 880,000 and up.
