Chevrolet Camaro 2011 convertible with V8 and better V6

After being spotted now and then over the past two years, the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible will premiere at the 2010 Los Angeles International Auto Show on November 17.

The Convertible model will be available in the same basic model offering as the Camaro Coupe. The launch also marks the debut of the upgraded 3.6-litre direct-injection V6 engine, which now offers 312 hp, up by 8 horses. The SS model will feature the 6.2-litre V8 engine producing 426 hp. A 6-speed manual transmission will be standard, with an optional 6-speed automatic.

The Camaro Convertible will arrive in U.S. Chevrolet showrooms in February 2011. The right to purchase one of the first Convertibles was recently sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction for US$ 205,000, with all proceeds donated to charity.

Keep track of updates in the Chevrolet Camaro buyer guide.
