Dodge Nitro, Ram & Jeep Cherokee, Wrangler recalled
Chrysler is recalling certain 2010 models of the Dodge Nitro, Dodge Ram 1500, Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler models due to a defect that could hinder braking.
The U.S. NHTSA safety agency says that “an improper flare on a brake tube that connects the master cylinder to the hydraulic control unit is being blamed for the problem. The HCU is part of the anti-lock braking system, and the faulty flare may leak and lead to a loss of brake fluid, which could lead to reduced braking performance and increase the risk of a crash.”
Chrysler dealers in the United States will replace the tubes on 22,118 vehicles for free under the safety recall starting in August. It is unknown if any vehicles are affected in the UAE and other GCC countries.
