BMW 5-Series 2011 M Sport package revealed
BMW has discovered a lucrative market by exploiting owners of regular BMW models who want their cars to look like an ‘M’ model, but without the expense or the performance. The 2011 5-Series is the latest model to receive an ‘M Sport’ package, namely a body kit with lots of ‘M’ badges on everything except the engine.
The ‘M Sport’ pack consists of ‘M’ sports suspension, chrome exhaust tips and an ‘M’ aerodynamics package which includes revised bumpers, new wheels available in 18-inch or 19-inch sizes, and modified side skirts. Inside, the cabin has a ‘M’ leather steering wheel, ‘M’ gear lever, ‘M’ footrest, sports seats upholstered in alcantara and fabric, anthracite ‘BMW Individual’ roof lining and ‘aluminum hexagon’ trim.
When it becomes available here, we estimate it could cost more than Dhs 20,000 to stick it onto a 523i. But it’ll still be much cheaper than getting a new M5, which isn’t even out yet.
