Mitsubishi Lancer Evo MR Touring for U.S. market

2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR Touring
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X is a somewhat uncompromising sports sedan, based off of an economy car platform. But the American market is getting a new MR Touring “luxury” model that puts it up against German brands in terms of pricing.

The Lancer Evolution MR Touring comes with the standard 291 hp turbocharged 2.0-litre DOHC MIVEC engine, mated to a 6-speed Twin Clutch Sportronic automanual gearbox and all-wheel-drive with Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC), as well as Brembo brakes, some aluminium body panels and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The MR Touring features “enhanced” interior noise reduction, sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry and start, RECARO leather racing seats with fixed head rests and, most obviously, a rear lip spoiler that replaces the large rear spoiler. Also fitted are a 710W Rockford Fosgate audio system with nine speakers, including a 10-inch trunk-mounted subwoofer, an optional 40GB HDD Navigation with Music Server, Bluetooth hands-free phone system with voice command recognition, and seven airbags including a driver’s knee airbag.

Options include items such as intercooler piping, air dams, brake ducts, mud flaps, rear camera, parking sensors, and more.

The U.S. starting price for this top model is at the equivalent of Dhs 147,000, which is actually lower than the price of a basic Evo X in the UAE. For detailed specs of the available GCC models, visit the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution buyer guide.
