Porsche 911-based RUF Rt 12 S debuts
RUF claims to be an independent car manufacturer, and is also registered as such in Germany. In reality, they are an exclusive Porsche tuner, and their latest 911-based offering is the RUF Rt 12 S.
The modified twin-turbo 6-cylinder boxer engine offers 685 hp and maximum torque of 880 Nm.
A standard roll cage is integrated in the ceiling. The redesigned front clip includes LED lamps as turn signals. A carbon-fibre rear spoiler, air ducts on the widened rear fenders, and exterior mirrors from the RUF CTR 3 complete the appearance of the Rt 12 S. The RUF has forged 19-inch light alloy wheels. Behind them are ceramic brake discs. The chassis and the aerodynamics are tuned to a maximum speed
of 360 kph.
Optionally available is a height-adjustable front axle which hydraulically offers 50 mm more chassis clearance by pushing a button, for climbing steep curbs.
The interior has contoured bucket seats or comfortable sport seats, and a steering wheel with maximum grip. Trim applications in varnish, aluminium or carbon-fibre are possible.
The RUF Rt 12 S coupé can optionally be delivered with rear-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive, and costs Dhs 1.3 million in Europe.
