Porsche Carrera GT becomes Gemballa Mirage

European Porsche tuner Gemballa likes to refer themselves as a true car manufacturer. And they have now created what they call the “ultimate super sports car,” naming it the Gemballa Mirage GT Carbon Edition. Of course, it is easy to see that it is based on the Porsche Carrera GT.

The Gemballa Mirage GT Carbon Edition will be limited to only 5 pieces only. Various body panels are made of carbon fibre, and many of the original Carrera GT body parts have been replaced with more aerodynamic pieces, integrating vents, spoilers and brake ducts into the design.

The Gemballa Mirage GT uses a tuned ECU and a special exhaust system with sport catalytic converters. Due to its 670 hp at 8000 rpm and 630 Nm of torque at 5700 rpm, the V10 allows 0-100 kph acceleration in 3.7 seconds. The top speed is 335 kph, faster than the standard Carrera GT. Gemballa also fits a sports clutch with special pads for easier stop-and-go in city traffic.

Included are four individually-adjustable coilover dampers with progressively-coiled double springs. For everyday use, the electro-hydraulic height-adjustment makes it possible to lift the body by 45 mm to allow driving over obstacles. Also by pushing a button or by reaching 80 kph, the MIRAGE lowers itself to its original level. Gemballa also adds GT SPORT forged alloy wheels, 9.5 x 19 in front and 12.5 x 20 in the back, with tyres 265/35 ZR19 front and 335/30 ZR20 rear.

The interior uses fine leather, ultra-suede and carbon-fibre. The newly-designed centre console is entirely made of carbon-fibre and houses the Gemballa Multimedia unit and Data Control System. Also included is the full-size airbag sports steering wheel.

The Gemballa Mirage Carbon Edition, limited to five only, is priced starting at the equivalent of Dhs 1.5 million, without including the price of the base Porsche Carrera GT, which itself costs more than Dhs 2 million.
