2010 Chevrolet Spark debuting in Europe
The current Spark is a goofy thorn on the side of Chevy’s otherwise respectable line-up. However, the all-new 2010 Chevrolet Spark, making its world premiere at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show in March, may infuse some style into this market segment, if squishy little cars are your thing.
The new Spark supermini was inspired by the Chevrolet Beat concept that toured international auto shows since 2007, and which will appear in the Transformers 2 movie.
The 5-door hatchback integrates Chevrolet’s corporate grille and a very tall body, with wheels upto 15-inch in size and an integrated tailgate spoiler. The cabin has a ‘dual cockpit’ layout and a rather unique gauge cluster. Front, side and curtain airbags as well as stability control will be available.
Initial engine choices feature 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre 4-cylinder DOHC units. It will be available in Europe first, by early 2010.
