Dubai photo-shoot with Jaguar XKR Portfolio

We recently got this Jaguar XKR Portfolio in our stable for a few days. Since we had already tested the standard Jaguar XKR earlier this year, reviewing this largely-similar car would’ve been repetitive, so we used it for a photo-shoot around random places in Dubai. The photos were taken by Rashmi Michael.

The 2008 Jaguar XKR Portfolio is powered by the same 420 hp 4.2-litre supercharged V8 that resides under the bonnet of the standard XKR. The Portfolio package differentiates itself with minor trim and auxiliary upgrades.

The special-edition XKR Portfolio supposedly includes new 20-inch polished ‘Cremona’ five-spoke alloy wheels, polished aluminium side-vents and ‘Celestial Black’ paint. However, our Portfolio-badged test car visibly had differently-styled smoked alloy wheels and a graphite paintjob, which means the various customisation options may be available for GCC customers. The interior can be had in a choice of satin walnut wood trim or ‘engine-spun’ alloy, the latter of which featured in our tester. The XKR Portfolio also marked the first production Jaguar to use a new Bowers & Wilkins speaker system for the 525W stereo.

Also new for the Portfolio is a high-performance braking system with 400 mm front discs and 350 mm rear discs, evidently the largest ever fitted to a production Jaguar.

What do you think?
