2009 Mercedes Benz GLK in concept form

Mercedes-Benz is preparing to offer a new compact soft-roader called the GLK for the 2009 model year. To show it off early, Merc has released this lightly-disguised concept, called the Vision GLK Freeside, although I feel there isn’t much here to show off with.

The “concept” includes a four-cylinder BLUETEC four-cylinder diesel and a 7-speed automatic, as well as 4Matic all-wheel-drive. No matter how it is marketed, do not take one of these off-road though. It is strictly a competitor for the BMW X3. The concept will debut at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show this month.
