2008 Skoda Roomster

VW-owned Czech carmaker Skoda diverged from simply building rebadged versions of dull VW products, and created something totally original. Dubbed the Roomster, it is billed as a "leisure activity vehicle" that pushes the boundaries of the non-SUV crossover genre. Sharing components with the last-generation Octavia and the current Fabia, the Roomster is supposed to be a combination of "room" and "roadster," although we are pretty sure it is more of a hostel bed-space than a sports car. Škoda conceived the Roomster's cabin to have different configurations. The rear seats, which are taller than the front seats, can be folded in a 40-20-40 split configuration, instead of the more usual 40-60, and can also be moved longitudinally and transversally by removing the middle seat.
