Overview
The Nissan GT-R is a class-leading sports car built on Nissan's Premium Midship platform, and utilising carbon-fibre, aluminium and steel components. For 2011, the 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 "VR38" engine, mated with a dual-clutch automanual and all-wheel-drive, got a massive power upgrade. For 2012, it was upgraded again by 20 hp, along with better fuel economy. A special Bilstein DampTronic system uses all pertinent vehicle information to provide appropriate damping forces for all situations and helps maintain a high level of control for straight-line driving, cornering, and braking. Structural stiffness, suspension and aerodynamics had all been upgraded for 2011. The shocks were upgraded again for 2012. Other standard features include HID headlights, LED front markers, LED tails, Brembo brakes, front and side airbags, run-flat tyres, launch control, and a CD stereo with Bluetooth and hard drive.
