The Nissan GT-R is a class-leading sports car built on Nissan's Premium Midship platform, and utilising carbon-fibre, aluminium and steel components. The real news is under the bonnet, with the all-new 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 "VR38" engine, mated with a dual-clutch automanual and all-wheel-drive, is enough to challenge exotic cars that cost three times as much. Each hand-built engine seems to vary by up to 60 horsepower. But the motor officially gained 7 hp by 2010 with minor tweaks. A special Bilstein DampTronic system uses all pertinent vehicle information to provide appropriate damping forces for all situations and helps maintain a high level of control for straight-line driving, cornering, and braking. Other standard features include HID headlights, LED tails, Brembo brakes, front and side airbags, run-flat tyres, launch control, and a CD stereo with Bluetooth and hard drive.
