2009 Kia Optima

The Optima had its first credible entry in the midsize field back in 2006. The model has received a facelift for 2009, but remains smaller than the usual Japanese makes. This front-wheel-drive sedan is powered by either an upgraded 2.0-litre 4-cylinder with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic, or a respectable 2.7-litre V6 with a 5-speed automatic. The makeover continues within the cabin with new trims and colour schemes. Features include a CD/MP3 player, new instrument cluster with red illumination, and seat trims in grey or beige, with cloth or leather, power windows and door locks, a six-way adjustable driver's seat and four-way adjustable front passenger seat as well as 60/40-split folding rear seats.
