An all-new Hyundai Sonata was released as a 2020 model. Mechanically, there is a new 2.5-litre 4-cylinder MPI engine, but there is barely any upgrade in power compared to the previous generation, and it is still mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. In Saudi Arabia, a 2.0-litre engine is also available. The base 2023 Hyundai Sonata model, known as Sonata Smart in UAE, comes with 16-inch steel wheels, power windows and mirrors, fog lamps, keyless entry, rear camera, cruise control, 6-speaker CD/MP3 stereo with Bluetooth, ABS and one only airbag. The higher spec versions of the 2023 Hyundai Sonata called Smart Plus and Comfort come with 16-inch or 17-inch alloys, rear parking sensors, panoramic sunroof, leatherette steering, electric folding mirrors and a second passenger airbag.
