Chrysler 300C 2010 Overview

The 300C's unique styling and engineering combines pieces from the Mercedes-Benz parts bin with doodles from Chrysler's American design studios. Marking the Chrysler brand's return to a rear-wheel-drive, V8 powered automobiles for the first time in decades, the 300C pays homage to the first letter-series Chrysler 300s, which where popular in the 60s for their performance and prestige. With a unique shape to stand out with, the interior continues the theme of the exterior, with distinctive materials and textures. The 300C also marked the return of the Hemi V8 engine to the Chrysler brand since the 1960s. The 5.7-litre Hemi V8 got a power increase for 2009. It features cylinder deactivation technology, dubbed MDS, that seamlessly turning off the fuel consumption in four cylinders of the 5.7-liter HEMI engine when V8 power is not needed, improving fuel economy by up to 20%, though one would be hardpressed to notice a difference. The ride is smooth, but corners should be handled with care. A 6.1-litre V8-powered SRT-8 models is also available in many GCC markets, with a more sporting demeanour and does not have MDS. For 2010, the 300 Limited model was introduced, with a 3.5-litre V6 and 4-speed automatic, as well as being fully-loaded with options such as UConnect computer, navigation, leather and remote start. Available features across the model range include cloth or leather upholstery, 18-inch alloy wheels, power accessories, optional sunroof, CD/MP3 stereo, Bluetooth, navigation and a hard drive. The SRT8 gets larger 20-inch alloy wheels, sports leather seats, a mild body kit and sports suspension. All models feature front and side airbags, ABS and stability control.
