Overview
The DTS is the new name for the Deville. The change is mostly to bring it in line with the company's new policy of naming its car models with letters. The DTS is the only remaining front-wheel-drive car in Cadillac's fleet. It comes in a single line that is stepped up with available options, such as Xenon headlamps, LED taillamps, six standard airbags including a dual-depth front passenger airbag, a factory-installed remote start with personalization feature, and an in-dash, six-CD changer with MP3 player. The DTS comes with a 275 hp Northstar V8 engine that can be optioned up to a version that makes 291 hp. A four-speed Hydra-Matic transmission is the sole choice. Known Problems
In early models, "check engine" light may come on if the car idles over 30 minutes, requiring reprogramming of powertrain control module. The keyless entry may not work sometimes or the tyre pressure warning may come on due to malfunction of the receiver and antenna. Paint on aluminium hood easily damaged. The upper radiator hose may leak due to a manufacturing problem in early models.
