2007 Volkswagen Golf Plus

Volkswagen has expanded its model spectrum with a new Golf-based weirdo called the Golf Plus. With added extras in terms of bodywork and seating height, it is essentially a tall Golf. This allows cabin space that rivals many small 4WD offerings, all in a small exterior. There is even a CrossGolf variant of this model, with 20 mm extra ground clearance and tough-looking plastic body cladding, but it is still really a front-driven hatchback. The clever interior fittings include a rear seating system which can be shifted lengthwise by means of a new folding kinematic system. This method automatically causes the seating area to be lowered as soon as the backs of the asymmetrically adjustable, divisible seats have been folded down, resulting in a nearly level storage area.
