1996 Ssangyong Musso

The Musso is a sleek Korean 4WD with a Mercedes-Benz heart. It comes with a Mercedes-Benz 3.2-litre inline-6, with the choice of a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic, with power transmitted to all four wheels. The cabin seats five, or seven with the optional third-row bench. Standard features include power windows and mirrors, driver's airbag, CD player, ABS-assisted disc brakes, independent front suspension, limited-slip differential, central locking, engine immobilizer, auto antenna, cloth upholstery, fake wood trim, adjustable steering, and a rear spoiler. Also standard is a full-time 4WD system with low-range gearing. Interestingly, the Musso was originally launched during 1993 in its home market of South Korea. Even more interesting is that it was on sale in Australia as a Mercedes-Benz GX320, in the days before the German company had a 4WD of its own. The final year with its original face was 1999, when bankrupt Ssangyong was purchased by Daewoo, marked with a major facelift.
