Overview
The Maserati Ghibli was revived by Fiat as a 2014 model and is intended to compete in the luxury midsize segment which is dominated by the Germans. The rear-wheel drive Ghibli gets two 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engines in different states of tune. Both versions get an 8-speed automatic transmission. In 2015, the Ghibli S was also available with all-wheel-drive. In 2019, a Gran Lusso trim was introduced with a body kit, sports seats and steering wheel, and full-LED adaptive Matrix headlights. 2021 saw another slight facelift update as well as new engine additions, software and tech upgrades. A 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine with a small electric motor under the new GT Hybrid trim was added to the the lineup. Also added was a Trofeo trim which got a 3.8-litre turbocharged V8 engine. In the US, there were recalls for the transmission software, seat wiring harness, rear differential pinion but which may not be torqued, and reverse camera getting disabled in cold temperatures.
