The Lexus GS is all-new for the 2012 model year, gaining a new entry-level trim but losing the V8 at the top end. The new models include the GS 250 and the GS 350, with the GS 450h hybrid joining the range later. The GS 250 comes with a 2.5-litre direct-injection V6 and a 6-speed automatic with paddles. The GS 350 comes with a 3.5-litre direct-injection V6, also with a 6-speed paddle-shiftable automatic. The GS 450h comes with a 3.5-litre engine mated to a compact, water-cooled electric motor powered by a nickel-metal hydride battery pack, and a CVT automatic. Identifiable by its new 'spindle' grille and LED running lamps, the GS comes in various trim levels. The GS 250 can be had in various trims.
