2008 Koenigsegg CCX

The CCX is the latest mid-engined supercar from Swedish manufacturer Koenigsegg. It is an evolutionary design that replaced the original Koenigsegg CCR. The removable roof can be stored in the front cargo area of the carbon-fibre and kevlar-reinforced body. This new model has been designed to be more practical, so its scissor-doors reveal a cabin with Sparco sports seats and decent headroom. While previous Koenigsegg models were powered by a Ford Modular V8 engine sourced from America, the CCX engine was designed in-house, based on the Ford Modular architecture and assembled by Grainger & Worrall, a British outfit that produces drivetrain components for Formula 1 cars. The engine is a 4.7-litre V8 boosted by two centrifugal superchargers and mated to a 6-speed manual.
