Jeep Commander 2006 Overview

The new Commander is the first Jeep that offers three-row seating and the ability to carry seven passengers. Available with either a 4.7-litre V8 or a 5.7-litre Hemi V8, they are both mated to a five-speed automatic transmission, and both offer similar fuel economy. Standard is Jeep's Quadra-Trac I, which is an automatic full-time all-wheel-drive system enhanced by electronic traction control. Other standard features on the Commander include AM/FM stereo with CD player, power windows, power mirrors, power eight-way driver's seat, flipper glass on the liftgate with remote control, all-terrain tyres on 17-inch aluminium wheels, tyre-pressure monitoring, and cruise control. The higher-trim Commander comes with the Hemi V8 with fuel-saving Multi-Displacement System technology, a full-time active 4WD system known as Quadra-Trac II, that has a two-speed transfer case with front and rear electronic limited-slip differentials, dual-zone temperature control, leather-trimmed bucket seats with memory, power adjustable pedals, power sunroof, power front seats and a six-disc in-dash CD player with MP3 capability. Options include rear DVD and 17-inch chrome wheels. Safety includes ABS, electronic stability control, Brake Assist, and numerous airbags.
