Overview
The Acadia is GMC's first crossover wagon that combines car-like handling with the utility of a 4WD wagon, offering three rows of seating for up to eight passengers. The design consists of polished aluminium roof rails, projector beam headlights, LED taillights and a rear spoiler. First introduced in 2007, the Acadia got an upgrade under the bonnet in 2009, with a slightly more powerful 3.6-litre V6 with variable valve timing, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and an optional all-wheel-drive system with no low range. The interior features a "low and away" instrument panel and a Smart Slide second-row feature allows easier access to the third row. Features include power windows, CD/MP3 stereo with six speakers, electric mirrors, keyless entry and more. Common problems include clunking steering rack, leaky water pump and various loose plastic trimmings, all requiring full replacement.
